Facade Masterpiece: The Ventilation Tower at Whitechapel for the Elizabeth Line

Sorba, a renowned household name in high-quality facade and object cladding, recently completed the facade of the ventilation tower at Whitechapel. This tower, intended for the new Elizabeth Line, features a special facade. In this article, we dive deeper into the project, the techniques used and Sorba’s innovative approach.

Aluminium Extrusion Profiles in Vibrant Copper

For the project at Whitechapel, Sorba used aluminium extrusion profiles. These profiles are wrapped with copper sheets in different shades of colour. The result is a façade that is not only functional but also visually impressive.

Quick Installation with Frames

One of the remarkable aspects of Sorba’s approach is the installation method. The wrapped profiles are conveniently mounted on frames, enabling fast and efficient installation on site. This testifies to Sorba’s commitment to manufacturability and grip on both the process and the end result.

Sorba: From Metalworking to Full-Service Partner

Sorba’s roots lie in specialist metalworking for aesthetically pleasing cladding. Today, however, Sorba has evolved into a material-independent full-service engineer, manufacturer and collaboration partner. The diversity of their services is reflected in the fact that they take the entire facade project off their hands. Consultancy, engineering, production and assembly – Sorba offers an all-encompassing service.

System and Material Free Thinking

Sorba is known for their ability to customise and innovate. By thinking system- and material-free, they break through the boundaries of what is possible. This approach enables them to meet daily challenges and make architectural visions tangible.

Sorba goes for perfection in every project they tackle. The many completed projects serve as proof of their commitment to perfection. Sorba’s work is not only iconic in the built environment, but also helps define cities, streets and structures for decades to come.

Sorba: Surface Creators

With the completion of the ventilation tower facade at Whitechapel, Sorba has once again proved why they are a leading name in the world of facade and object cladding. Their unique approach, innovative thinking and commitment to perfection make them an indispensable link in the construction world. The ventilation tower at Whitechapel, with its magnificent facade, will serve as a timeless example of Sorba’s masterpiece.
